I don't mean to dismiss your argument entirely - I totally get what you're saying, and of course my preference would have been to have had a separate release of the Hull show for $18-$20. But I didn't really "need" any of it, did I? It's your prerogative to say YES or NO. Not the company's fault that I didn't "need" the rest of it. I bought a 7" single, I bought a 12" LP, I bought two other CDs, I bought a hardcover book, and I bought a nice package to put it all in. Was that a ridiculously bloated price for two CDs? Sure it was! But I bought more than two CDs. The cost of the item was $75 - and the only thing I needed was that one show. I made a decision - did I want the Hull show or didn't I? I did. Not at the rape-price.Ĭlick to expand.Ehh, no one "forced" me to do anything. I just hate this trend.because I'd like to get all these sets.and I can't. They can't get the SMiLE sessions unless they shell out $170.you know? 5 CDs? $170? The label starts to look like jerks at some point, right? I feel bad for people who are being a little more reasonable. Other than that, there's little excess - you're right. What are we paying for there?Īs for the deluxe SMiLE set.there's a "bloat-factor" by forcing the vinyl - but, in this instance, I like it. One can say it's "clever marketing" and it's nothing new. Dangle a few nuggets Floyd fans have wanted for decades - $30-60 of valuable content - in a scarf-clad dud. The Pink Floyd Immersion sets, for example.
